July 1st- MVA, Box 25-09

Just before 0900 hours on the 1st of July, Engine Co. 25 and Rescue 27 were alerted to an auto accident at the intersection of Williams Grove RD and Steam Engine Hill at the Williams Grove Historic Steam Engine Association. York County Rescue 64 was also alerted to the accident due to another call to York County 9-1-1. Rescue 64 arrived on scene first and advised Chief 25 there was negative entrapment and 1 BLS injury. The injured person was transported by Ambulance 64 to Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Command 25 (Heckert) released York R64 and R27 and remained on the scene until PSP arrived.


July 7th- Lucky 7th Birthday

Members of Engine Co. 25 put on a party of a township resident's 7th birthday on 7/7/07. The kids (and parents) got to see and hear a firefighter in full turnout gear, got to see a thermal imager in action, got a tour of Engine 25 and even got to try on some fire gear.

July 14th- Saturday Night Action on "the Border"

The Northside (Co. 33) and Southside (Co. 25) Engines, as well as Rescues 31 and 27 were alerted to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in the area of 1056 W. Trindle RD (Box 33-101). EMS units on scene requested an aeromedical transport to a local trauma center. Engine 25 (C25 Heckert, FF Hare) established a landing zone for Lifelion a short distance down the road from the accident scene.

 

July 16th- MVA: Vehicle Into a Home w/ Entrapment

July 16 - At 12:40, Headquarters alerted Engines 25, 35, 136; Truck 36, Rescue 40; and Tankers 25, 33, York 65 to reported vehicle accident with entrapment and the vehicle into a structure.

Chief 225 (Farrell) and E25 arrived on the scene to find a truck pulling trailer into A/D corner of structure. In addition, Command 25 confirmed the driver was confined to vehicle.

The incident brought together a number of Cumberland and York County fire and EMS organizations as well as Cumberland County Team 500 (TROT Team).

July 25th- Transfer to Co. 19, Smoke in a Basement

Tanker 25 transferred to Company 19's quarters while they were out at a house fire at 229 West Columbia Ave in E. Pennsboro Twp. While on the transfer assignment, along with E-133, Tanker 25, Tanker 19, and Chief 19 (Dressler) responded to call for smoke in a basement. Chief 19 arrived on scene to find a small tan bark fire to the rear of the resident with no extension.


July 29th- Surprise Storm Brings S. Middleton Action

A late evening thunderstorm resulted in 2 incidents in South Middleton Township. Both incidents were for homes struck by lightning. The storm-related damaged seemed confined to the township. Crews from Monroe were delayed responding to the second incident due to debris on the roadways.
