March 28 – Monroe Fire Company held its annual banquet at Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse. Special thanks to New Kingstown Co. 33 for covering the township during the banquet. The Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 28 at Monroe Fire Company, 1225 Peffer Road, just outside Churchtown. Registration begins at 10 a.m.. January 2 – The first incident of 2015 was a corn field fire in the 1700 block of West Lisburn Road. Headquarters dispatched Companies 25 and 33, along with EMS Company 72 (Silver Spring) to the fire at 2:35 p.m. Company 25 responded with the Mini-Pumper, Tanker, and Utility with a total staffing of five volunteers. …

Vehicles Strike Utility Poles in Separate Accidents

A single vehicle accident occurred in the 1200 block of York Road on December 9, 2014 at approximately 11:14 a.m.

December 8 – 9, 2014 – Two vehicle accidents occurred in Monroe Township over two days; in each incident a vehicle struck a utility pole. A Busy Tuesday…

Sept. 16 – Monroe’s volunteers got an early start to the day, responding with Company 33 (New Kingstown) to a motor vehicle accident at 3:04 a.m. at the intersection of North Locust Point Road and West Trindle Road in Silver Spring Township.  Crews found a single vehicle off the roadway and the driver had self-extricated.  Company …
