School Bus Accident Leaves One Dead; Several Hospitalized

Feb. 9 – Monroe Fire Company along with additional fire, EMS, and police agencies responded to an auto accident involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of West Trindle Road and South Locust Point Road on the border of Monroe and Silver Spring Townships.

First arriving crews found the bus, with students on board, and a passenger vehicle in a field with wires down in the intersection.

Firefighters and EMS personnel attended to extricating victims from the passenger vehicles and safely evacuating students from the bus.  Sadly, one of the passengers in the car, a 20-year-old female, was deceased.

No students were seriously injured in the accident.  The driver and two other passengers in the car were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
