Monroe RITeam Responds to Double Fatal Fire

Monroe Fire Company’s Rapid Intervention Team staging at the scene of a double fatal fire in the 1600 block of Carlisle Road, Lower Allen Township.

March 3rd – At 10:27 a.m., Monroe Fire Company’s specialized Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) was dispatched to a two-alarm residential structure fire in the 1600 block of Carlisle Road in Lower Allen Township.

The crew of four established a RIT staging area while Chief 25 performed a 360 degree threat assessment of the structure.  RIT monitored firefighting and attempted recovery operations inside the structure.  The team was demobilized by incident command shortly after heavy equipment was brought in to demolish the structure.  Company 25 returned to service at approximately 3:00 p.m.
