Monroe Home Damaged by Fire

May 4 – A 3:15 p.m., Headquarters dispatched a first-alarm structure fire assignment for a report of a house fire in the 900 block of Park Place, Monroe Township.  The 1st alarm was comprised of Companies 25 (Monroe), 23 (Upper Allen), 27 (Citizens’-Mechanicsburg), 28 (Washington-Mechanicsburg), 33 (New Kingstown), 45 (Carlisle Fire & Rescue Services), 64 (Dillsburg) and 65 (Franklintown).

Chief 23 (Salter) arrived on scene first and reported smoke from the left-side and rear of the home.  The homeowner reported that there was fire in the wall on the left side of the home.  E25 arrived and stretched two attack lines.  Crews opened up the wall and found active fire, which was quickly extinguished.  Crews then performed overhaul operations from the exterior and the basement.

An investigation revealed the fire was accidental in nature.  Company 25 returned to quarters at 4:21 p.m.
