Steady Weekend for Mutual Aid

July 14 – 15 – Engine 25 responded to a number of mutual aid incidents over the weekend, starting with an odor of smoke inside the McDonalds at the intersection of Shadow Oaks Drive and Conodoguinet Parkway in Silver Spring Twp.  While E25 and crew staged at the scene, they were summoned to assist with a child locked in a car at the Giant grocery store in the shopping plaza.  E25 returned to Silver Spring Twp on Sunday morning for a report of mulch burning against a home in the 100 block of Easterly Drive.  Later during the evening hours on Sunday, E25 was dispatched for a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignment in Monaghan Twp., York County for a reported building fire in the 100 block of Chestnut Grove RD.  The fire, at McCurdy’s Tree Farm, turned out to be a lawn tractor on fire inside a garage and E25 was cancelled en route.

In addition to the three mutual aid incidents, crews also handled a medical assisst for a fall victim in the township and staffed the flea market at the PA Pump Primers event in Harrisburg on Saturday.
