Christmas Eve Brings Four Calls

Company 25 spent Christmas Eve responding to four incidents within the township. 

Engine 25 and Rescue 40 were dispatched to a reported auto accident at the intersection of Zimmerman RD and York RD (Route 74) at 08:30 hrs.  Weather at the time was mixed precipitation with icy patches on the roadways.  C125 arrived on scene and held the incident to 1 BLS ambulance (EMS 40) and E25.  EMS transported 1 patient to the hospital with minor injuries.

At 12:10 hrs, Company 25 was alerted to a report of smoke in a house at 497 Criswell RD in the 25-02 box.  Along with Company 25, the following units were alerted:

  • Engine 35
  • Engine 136
  • Truck 36
  • Rescue 27
  • Tanker 41

Once on scene, Command 25 determined the source of the smoke to be a blocked wood stove flue pipe and held the incident to Engines 25 and 35.  The box was placed available at 12:38 hrs.

At 18:10 hrs, Company 25 was dispatched to a local alarm at 1355 Asper Dr for trees down blocking the roadway.  C125 arrived on scene and advised U25 would be sufficient for the incident.  Co 25, with the assistance of a local resident cleared the trees and went available.

At 22:51 hrs, Company 25 was dispatched to a local alarm for wires down in the area of the intersection of Speedway Dr and W Lisburn Rd.  Chief 25 and Utility 25 responded and found the utility pole was off the roadway.  Cumberland County HQ notified the appropriate power company and Company 25 went available.
