1-Alarm House Fire in the -06 Box

Nov 3rd – Monroe Fire Co. was alerted to a house fire on Otto Dr (off Clouser RD) at 21:57 hours.  Cumberland County 9-1-1 received a call from the occupant less than a minute earlier advising her house was on fire.

Chief 25 arrived on scene at 22:03, advised of smoke showing from the home and established command.  E25 was next in and laid a supply line from the intersection of Clouser RD and Otto Dr.  Tanker 33 picked up the line and supplied E25.

At 22:13, C25 requested the next three tankers due on the box (23, 31, and 41).  Tanker 41 was placed in service while en route to the scene.

At 22:17, Command 25 requested a 2nd BLS unit (West Shore EMS A185) to the scene and for Met-Ed to also respond to assist securing power to the structure.

At 00:53, Command 25 placed the box available with the exception of the transfer pieces.

It is believed that the fire started in an outside light and burnt up the exterior wall before getting into the roof area and spreading.

The American Red Cross assisted those displaced by the fire. As always, a special THANK YOU to the crew of E430 for covering the station and helping get the equipment back in service.
